Place the Keycaps! — FAQ
Quick, honest answers. Where other sites guess, we date our claims — everything below was verified against the live game and launch-week gameplay footage on July 16, 2026.
Does Place the Keycaps have codes?
No. There is no code-redeem system in the game — no codes box in the UI, no codes in the official description, nothing to redeem. That means no working codes exist, period. Any site listing "Place the Keycaps codes" for July 2026 is padding a page for clicks.
Beta games add code systems all the time, so this could change. Our dedicated codes page tracks the status daily — the day a codes box appears, it'll be documented there with dates.
Is Place the Keycaps free to play?
Yes — completely free on Roblox. As of July 14, 2026 the game lists no paid game passes either, which is unusual for a charting Roblox game and consistent with its beta status.
What does [FIXES!] in the title mean?
Roblox games conventionally advertise their latest update in brackets before the name. [FIXES!] is the current one — a bug-fixing patch cycle following the [SOUNDS!] sound update. Details in our update log.
Who develops the game?
The Roblox group KEYBOARDS!!!!! (9,700+ members), led by DragonTStudios. The game launched June 24, 2026, and the group registered a second project — Build a Keyboard! — on July 3.
What platforms can I play on?
Place the Keycaps! runs wherever Roblox does — it's a standard Roblox experience with no platform restrictions listed on its game page. Keyboard players get the extra bindings (Q throw, CTRL mouse unlock, R upgrades); touch players interact by tapping. See the full controls page.
How do I get the Sorted All Keycaps badge?
Sort every keycap — the official badge text is "You have sorted every keycap!". 38,000+ players have it, so it's very achievable. Strategy and the full breakdown: Keycaps & Collection guide.
Does the game have upgrades or skill points?
Yes — press R to open the upgrades panel. Everything in it starts locked and is priced in skill points; launch-week footage suggests you earn points by completing keyboards. Exact upgrade effects and costs are still being pinned down (it's a beta) — details will land on the how-to-play page as they're confirmed.
Does my progress save between sessions?
Unconfirmed as of July 15, 2026. Players in early footage raised the same question and the beta doesn't state it anywhere. We'd rather say "not verified yet" than guess — this answer gets updated the moment saving is confirmed either way.
How many players per server?
Up to 25. Everyone sorts in the same world, which makes full servers the fastest boards — more on co-sorting in tips #7.
Is this the same game as Collect a Keycap?
No. Collect a Keycap! (by Brixcore, since late 2025, 8M+ visits) is a collect-money-rebirth game and has its own codes system. Place the Keycaps! is a different developer and a different idea — pure sorting, no grind, no codes. They share a theme, not a developer.
What is Build a Keyboard?
The KEYBOARDS!!!!! group registered a second Roblox experience called Build a Keyboard! on July 3, 2026. It's closed to the public with zero visits and no published details. We're tracking it on the updates page and won't speculate beyond the name.
Something on this site doesn't match the game — why?
The game is in beta and patches ship fast (sometimes daily). We verify against the live game and date every page, but the in-game version always wins. Spot a mismatch? The game updated first — check the update log for the newest state.
