Place the Keycaps! Update Log & News

The beta moves fast — this page tracks every update we catch, plus what the KEYBOARDS!!!!! group is working on next. Bookmark it; we check the game daily while the beta is hot.

Current version: the [SOUNDS!] update

The game's title tag right now is [SOUNDS!] — Roblox shorthand for "this is what the latest patch added." True to the developer group's name, the update leans into audio: keycap placements land with mechanical-keyboard sound, turning the sorting loop into something closer to an ASMR toy. Given that keyboard sounds are the niche's whole appeal (this is the same wave that made Collect a Keycap! big), shipping sound as a headline update is the game leaning into exactly what its audience came for.

The game page shows an update as recent as July 14, 2026 — the same day this log was last refreshed. Beta patches are landing continuously.

Roblox doesn't publish full patch notes for most games, and beta changes often ship silently. Dates above come from the game's public page data; where the developers haven't written notes, we describe what changed in-game rather than guessing.

What's next: Build a Keyboard!

Here's one most players haven't spotted: the KEYBOARDS!!!!! group has a second experience registered on Roblox called Build a Keyboard! — created July 3, 2026, currently closed, zero visits. No gameplay details are public yet, and we won't invent any. But the name suggests the group's ambition runs past sorting: first you place the keycaps, then you build the board?

Whatever it turns out to be, we'll cover it here the day it opens.

No codes yet — and we'll say so the day that changes

Every popular Roblox game eventually gets asked about codes. As of July 14, 2026, Place the Keycaps! has no code-redeem system — there's nothing to redeem and no working codes, whatever other sites may claim. The moment a codes box appears in-game, this site gets a dedicated, dated codes page. Until then, the honest answer lives in our FAQ.
